ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Recording artist Matt Harris was born on May 22nd, 1998 in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. From a young age, he was musically inclined. He was often found using household items as drums, and loved listening to music more than anything. Growing up in the church, Matt was known as a child for faithfully sitting on the stage intently watching his godfather, Pastor Andrew Blackwell, play the piano, observing every note and movement. Matt's first and primary instrument is the drums, which he picked up at the age of three. Later, at age 12, he began to play the piano and organ. He is self-taught on both instruments. From three years of high school drum line, to a career as a percussion instructor, to playing for some of gospel music's renown artists, Matt is striving to make a mark in the music world. His natural ear for music, dedication to the developing his craft, and inspiration and support from family led to the success of Matt's debut single, "Hang On," released on January 19th, 2018.
In addition to Matt's musical accomplishments, he is also a servant of people. In 2014, at the age of 16, Matt became a Christian minister through the Church of God In Christ, Inc. Since then, he has devoted many hours to encouraging, feeding, clothing, and advising those in need. Matt's caring nature has led him to become a strong advocate for Childhood Cancer Awareness. This is an epidemic that touches Matt's heart very deeply, and he strives to help the cause in any way he can.
Through faith, action, and partnership, Matt Harris is devoted to improving the lives of whomever he can, making a difference and leaving an impression everywhere he goes.
